What
The Firefighter Disaster Relief Fund supports firefighter families across the United States when disaster hits their community, or when they are deployed to other communities.
Why
While there are many relief efforts for communtiies impacted by wildfires, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and other disasters, few efforts focus their support on the firefighters who are away from their families helping those communities.
When disaster strikes, local firefighters are mobilized to respond, often leaving their own families and property at risk. It’s not unusual for firefighters’ familes to face disaster and recovery while their firefighters are away helping others.
Dollars raised for the Firefighter Disaster Relief Fund will be used to provide support for firefighters and their families, so they can recover and return to a sense of normalcy.

How do I donate to the fund?
Click here. If you want to make other arrangements for your donation, please contact us. We are only able to accept mponetary dontations. If you have goods or products to donate, we suggest contacting your local Red Cross or the National Red Cross.
How are the funds distributed?
Whenever possible, we identify a local firefighter-focused charity to receive funding from the Firefighter Disaster Relief Fund. If there are none, we identify other nonprofits to receive the funds and direct that they are used to support local firefighers. In rare cases, we might distribute funds directly to firefighter families who demonstrate need.
How much goes to firefighter families?
At least 90% of the dollars raised for the Firefighter Disaster Relief Fund are used to support firefighter families during and after a disaster. The remaining dollars are used for overhead, reporting, and compliance.
Is my donation tax deducable?
Ventura Fire Foundation is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations to the fFirefighter Disaster Relief Fund are eligble for tax benefits as allowed by law.
